Eligibility Criteria for BPSSC Forest Range Officer 2025 Recruitment
Candidates must fulfill some basic eligibility criteria to apply for BPSSC Forest Range Officer. First of all, candidates must be Indian citizen. For educational qualification, candidates must have Bachelor’s degree in any science subject, such as Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Statistics, Agriculture, or Forestry.
Minimum age should be 21 years, and age limit varies according to the category. Maximum age is 37 years for General category, 40 years for BC/EBC male candidates, and up to 42 years for SC/ST male candidates. The age limit for female candidates is a little higher, like for general category it is up to 40 years.
BPSSC Forest Range Officer Selection Process 2025
The selection process for BPSSC Forest Range Officer is done in 4 stages: written exam, physical efficiency test (PET), interview, and medical examination.
In the first stage, there will be a written exam, which will be divided into two papers.
- Paper I will be of General Hindi, which will have 50 questions.
- Paper II will have questions on General Science, General Knowledge, Mathematics, and Mental Ability.
Paper I is of 100 marks and Paper II is of 300 marks. Positive marking for Paper I is 2 marks per correct answer and Paper II is 3 marks. There is also negative marking, which will be 0.22 marks in Paper I and 0.33 marks in Paper II. Candidates have to qualify each stage.

After filling the form, candidates will have to pay the application fee. The fee for Bihar domicile male candidates is Rs. 700 and for female candidates it is Rs. 400. BPSSC Forest Range Officer Exam Pattern 2025
It is also important to understand the BPSSC FRO exam pattern. The written exam consists of Paper I and Paper II. Paper I will have 50 questions, which will be related to General Hindi subject, and Paper II will have 100 questions, which will be related to General Science, General Knowledge, Mathematics, and Mental Ability.
The duration of Paper I will be 1 hour, and the duration of Paper II will be 2 hours. The total exam duration will be 3 hours. Candidates will get marks for answering every question correctly, but there will also be negative marking for wrong answers.
